CASE STUDIES

We are proud of the work we do and here are a few of our proudest moments.

Agnew Family Centre – Kier Services

Limburn partnered with Kier Services to transform Agnew House from sheltered housing for the elderly into a facility for homeless families. The project included extensive mechanical works, delivering new heating, water, and drainage systems for 55 new accommodation units, within a tight timescale.
The project involved the conversion of 38 flats for the elderly into 55 accommodation units of varying sizes at Agnew House, providing essential housing for homeless families. Limburn installed new plant systems, including tanks, booster sets, and strategically located plate heat exchangers for the domestic water systems. Although initially unplanned, the replacement of the LTHW (Low-Temperature Hot Water) heating system became necessary as the project progressed. Above-ground drainage systems were also installed, ensuring the building was fully equipped for its new purpose. Working closely with the architects to ensure each unit was fitted with its own WC and bathroom, alongside 13 communal kitchens and laundry rooms.

The Brief

Kier contracted Limburn to assist in converting Agnew House into a family centre for homeless families. The scope of works involved stripping the old systems and installing new heating, domestic water, and drainage systems for the new accommodation units.

The Challenge

Limburn was brought on at the eleventh hour and needed to quickly mobilise to begin the mechanical works. The project took several unexpected turns, including the replacement of the LTHW heating system, which added complexity to the project.

The Solution

Limburn efficiently installed new plant systems, domestic water systems with strategically located heat exchangers, and above-ground drainage. Despite the challenges, we worked closely with the architects to meet the evolving needs of the project, delivering a comprehensive solution.
